Gritting the Parish
Recently the Parish Council decided to take up Hertfordshire County Councils kind offer of 34 bags of salt under a new initiative to help keep key highway spots clear. As we did not have anywhere to store it, we have decided to distribute it amongst the following organisations, schools and businesses;
The Doctors, Village Hall, Community Centre, Ralph Sadlier, Roger De Clare, St Thomas of Canterbury, TG Video & Off License, Puckeridge General Stores, The Chemist, Standon Butchers, The Bakers and The Post Office.
Thank you to all of those above who have taken on responsibility for clearing the pavements outside thier establishments, ensuring that the Parish does not suffer as in previous icy conditions.
If you would like to know more about the scheme or how you can help please do not hesitate to contact us by clicking here.

Wallace Land - Puckeridge
You may or may not be aware that over the last few months there has been an archaeological dig on the Wallace Land prior to the building of the new development.
The results are fascinating as the area was key settlement in both the Iron Age and Roman era.
A brief outline report of the findings can be downloaded by clicking here. You can also see some fantastic pictures of the findings on Councillor Mrs. Jane Pitman's (Chairman of Hertfordshire County Councils) Face Book page. These include the Tile Kiln, skeletons and pots found on the site.
It is well worth a look and amazing to think how significant a development Puckeridge was all those years ago.
The area is now closed off again and has been filled in.
Please do not attend the site therefore as this will constitute trespass, thank you.
